Nordic Analysis and Reference Materials

Narema has released two new certified reference materials in September 2023,  namely JK 52 and JK 53.

JK 52 is a blast furnace pellets, which have been grinded to a finely divided powder. Blast furnace pellets are used in steel production and are ready for the blast furnace upon delivery.

JK 53 is a direct reduction pellets, which have been grinded to a finely divided powder. Direct reduction pellets, commonly abbreviated as DR pellets, are usually used for making steel in electric furnaces.

Both JK 52 and JK 53 are sold in bottles containing 100g in the form of finely divided homogenized powder passing through a 100 µg aperture.

The certificates for JK 52 and JK 53 can be found in the Naremas database or can be requested from crm@narema.fi.

JK 54 Stainless Steel has been released in February 2023.
JK 54 is in form of 1.1g punched discs with the dimensions 7.1 mm in diameter and 4 mm in height.
JK 54 are certified for the elements C, S, N and O and sold as 100 pieces per bottle.
The certificate can be found in the database.

JK 28 was sold out in December 2022.

JK 55 was released in September 2022. JK 55 is a direct reduced iron available as powders in 100 g bottles.
JK 55 has reference values for total and metallic iron content.
